 There's a lot of things I'm loving in July. 

For example, bold lips!

 

 It's a big intense to pull off yes, but that bold pop of color with a tangerine top or just an all white dress, well, it's just such a fun bright summer look. MAC and Nars have the best lipsticks (in my opinion of course) so when you get a chance, stop by a store and try on different colors! TIP: try not to go to the Soho Broadway MAC, especially on the weekends. Their new store is very long and the layout makes it hard to navigate during busy hours.

Honestly, that above lip would go GREAT with these tangerine colors. And these tangerine colors go GREAT with a tan. Rock it ladies!

I'm still trying to figure out how Rachel Bilson has such great personal style. Is it the way she pulls off the clothes? Is it her actual style that is that great? I don't understand it. But when I saw this photo of her rocking a super simple breezy white summer dress, I knew I had to run out and get one of my own. What a perfect dress for running errands. WANT!

When maxi dresses/skirts first became popular in. . .2009 (?) I was so very against the trend. It was an outfit seen on trashy Miami beach girls (Paris Hilton!) and I didn't see how it could ever translate to New York. Well, 3 years later, it's here and it's here to stay. Paired with sky high Jeffrey Campbells and a nice baggy sweater, we've made the maxi skirt go from trashy to hipster classy.

As much as I'm loving the color trends for summer, if you ask me what my own personal style is, I will always say black.black.black. There's just something so timeless about black. It's so easy and effortless to shimmy on a pair of black skinny jeans, flats/heels and black blazer and go out looking like a million bucks. LADIES, invest in black skinnies and a fitted black blazer. It will be the two best purchases you've ever made. OH, and if you want to incorporate a pop of color into your outfit, just drench your lips with that gorgeous pink lipstick. You'll definitely make a statement. 

Last but not least, this gorgeous dress from J Mendel SS 11. Sometimes a full open back can be too much, depending on where you're going. I love the sheer inlay on this dress. Done wrong, it can be a bit too ice skater-ish. Done right, it can be this gorgeous classy cream perfection of a dress.
