literature catch all @ 9:51 AM

You can ignore this post. It's mainly just for me.

I love to read. When I was younger, I probably read 4 or 5 books a week. I became a speed reader, and could finish a 300-400 page book in 4 or 5 hours. I consider this to be good and bad. Good because yes, I can finish a book fast, and bad because I'm so used to speed-reading that I miss the little things. And then good again (haha) because when I re-read something, which I do often with my favorites, I'll always catch something new.

ANYWAYS.

My Ongoing List Of Books/Novels/Plays To Be Read (in no particular order):

The Count Of Monte Cristo
Madame Bovary
Cyrano de Bergerac ("And what is a kiss, specifically? A pledge properly sealed, a promise seasoned to taste, a vow stamped with the immediacy of a lip, a rosy circle drawn around the verb 'to love.' A kiss is a message too intimate for the ear, infinity captured in the bee's brief visit to a flower, secular communication with an aftertaste of heaven, the pulse rising from the heart to utter its name on a lover's lip: 'Forever.'")
Crime & Punishment
The Divine Comedy
A Doll's House
The Picture Of Dorian Gray
Pygmalion
Salt: A World History (YES, I want to read a book about salt. WHATEVER. It's interesting)

Currently Reading:
Mein Kampf
Anna Karenina
Let The Right One In
Curtain

EDIT: You know what I just realized? All the books I read when I was younger were British books. British literature. I realized this because I keep spelling words in the British way (IE colour, grey, realise) and I keep having to delete and re-write. To be completely honest, I prefer the British spellings. Favourite just looks so much better on paper than favorite. I remember being in 3rd grade and getting red marks on my papers because I spelled gray - grey. I never understood why I was getting yelled at, that was the way I remember seeing the word! Heh.

EDIT #2: OMG, I just went on this website and my mind is blown. I always thought that catalogue was spelled that way! I never knew the American way to spell it was catalog?!?! Same with dialogue!! Who spells dialogue, dialog? That's so ugly. Wow, utter hate for the American spelling. Eff that, I guess I'm British through and through.
